The new TomCat
Just write text in here between the P and /P markers.
Each set of markers contains a paragraph.
The layout of the text inside the
paragraph
markers
does
not
matter
in the slightest.
To insert a photo use the '~picture' directive.
This needs the name of the file containing the image,
the width and height and some text to display if the user leaves
the mouse on the image for more than a couple of seconds.
All this information must be on one line!
To use '~picture' you have to specify how big you want the picture to be.
The browser will force it to fit.
This doesn't work very well unless the picture is resized to a simple
multiple smaller,
for instance half or quarter size.
Look at the next couple.
As an alternative, you can use '~pictleft' or '~pictright'.
The 'picture' directive centres the picture, but 'pictleft'
puts it to the left and lets the text flow round it.
This can be useful but the page layout becomes less predictable.
'~pictright' works the same way.
Now try using '~pictleft' to break the rest of the file into
short sections, each with a picture and some text.
This is the large picture of the Land Rover in Sandringham woods.
This was before the respray.
The original size of 1120 by 674 has been reduced to 373 by 225.
This is at a camp-site in Wales (Black mountains).
It was a misty, atomspheric morning.
The picture is actually 500 by 358 but is here squeezed to 300 by 216.
And here we are on top of the Black Mountains.
This picture is 600 by 428 but has been halved to 300 by 214.
And here we are on top of the Black Mountains again.
This picture is 600 by 428 but has been deformed to 300 by 107.
You can just go on adding text.
When the amount you have added finally falls off the end of the picture
(which may take some time and require some circumlocution unless
the picture is tiny)
the text should simply start against the left margin again.
This is why I shrank the picture vertically but left it very wide...
And, of course, '~pictright' works equally well the other way...
