| The major visitor attractions of the town are on the South Promenade, south of the Pier Entertainment Centre. | |
| The Oasis leisure centre contains a heated swimming-pool with a slide-tube. There is also a fitness suite, cafe and drop-in area in the building. |

| The pleasure beach has an assortment of rides and fairground-style attractions. There have been amusements on this site since the early 1900s, when the original swing boats and helter-skelter were installed. There are currently about a dozen major attractions. | |

Near the aquarium end of the pleasure beach there is a novelty golf
course, which follows the 'pirate' theme that is very popular
