Hunstanton Civic Society Looking to the future whilst preserving the best of the past.

The Hunstanton civic Society is affiliated to the Civic Trust and our aims are based on theirs. We hope to fulfill their ideals at a local level. We aim to ensure that residents and visitors alike are able to enjoy Hunstanton and the surrounding villages and countryside.

Our primary aims

• Monitor Local Authority and other agency proposals that would affect our community.
• Seek to influence public opinion concerning planning, conservation, restoration and environmental issues.
• Act to protect the heritage of Hunstanton and the surrounding communities and countryside.
• Promote high standards of planning and architecture.
• Protect local features of historical interest.
• Ensure the conservation of fine buildings.
• Monitor publicly provided services and amenities to ensure the provision of high quality solutions.
• Promote civic pride.
• Ensure the best appearance of our communities and the local environment so that they maintain their special character and appeal to visitors.
• Foster interest in the local past, present and future.
• Create opportunities for those who share our interests to meet and mix together.
• Work with all representative groups and encourage people of all ages to work together to achieve the best for our community.
• Distribute publicity regarding local campaigns, future events and topical news.
• Provide opportunities to involve all who share our common interest in what is best for our community without regard for age, ethnicity, religion, politics, occupation or status.
